Excellent! That's a great idea. I was actually doing something similar with vids for a while, but then I realized that my backup system was making up to three copies of the same vid -- one when it was in the "To Watch" folder, one in the "To Comment" folder, and one in the vid's respective fandom folder, if I decided to keep it. But that wouldn't be such an issue with fic, mostly because the files are much smaller, and also because I'm less likely to keep it on my hard drive after I've commented. Also, I don't think my backup system backs up my Dropbox folder?
Dropbox is automatically backed up, in a sense, to the remote server. So it shouldn't be backed up at all by your system.
I do something a lot less sophisticated - I just download the files and add them to a shelf on my ereader if I want to send feedback. Then I go through that shelf when I have time and do it.
(That is, that's what I did back when I read fic. Which I haven't, in a while...)
