I forgot to include it in the meme, but I had an important realization this year, during Festivids actually. I realized that I had most of the tools and skills I needed to make good vids. If I wanted to make the kind of vids I aspired to, I needed to *work* at it. Not so much on technical things like fancy effects, but I needed to be willing to put in the effort to find the right clips, to figure out how to use them best, and to wring as much musicality as I could out of my source. My limiting factor, I realized, was not skill, but unwillingness to work hard. (This was after a solid two years of vidding, keep in mind, and some of that stuff gets easier with more practice!)
