My show is back!

I watched the Elementary S2 premiere -- only a few days late! I was giggling with glee for a good chunk. It was so fun to see the duo again. I noticed that Joan has grown a lot, confidence wise. She was jumping right in with questions, introduced herself to Pembroke even before Sherlock did, and her body language was 100% an active part of the group. Of course a lot of her tendency to stand to the back and the side last season was at least as much being a sober companion as a question of confidence -- she actually wasn't 100% part of the team. But even as recently as Snow Angels she tended to step aside and let Sherlock take the lead while investigating, so it was great to see how she's come more into her own as a consulting detective -- and in her ability to apprehend fleeing suspects! :D
I also liked that they were both wrong about Mycroft's motivations for inviting Joan to dinner. It's funny, after Joan and Sherlock's conversation about whether she'd sleep with Mycroft, wherein Joan insisted she would not, I was semi- expecting her to. Cause we all know how women don't know what they want! It was nice to be reminded that this show is better than that.
Except when it comes to fat jokes. WTF, Sherlock/writers? At least Joan didn't laugh this time.
I also watched the penultimate episode of Breaking Bad. It was good but obviously mostly just setting the next episode in motion. Though my god how I loved seeing Flyn tell his dad off! It was a great moment for him, even if the specific reasons Flyn is so angry are not actually true. Onto the finale!
