Excellent point about the collaborative nature of the show. I agree with what local_max said for sure. I hadn't really thought about it in relation to Browne's essay, but you're right -- he does make it all about Whedon. I think he makes some great arguments about what makes the show so emotionally resonant, but yeah, it wasn't just Whedon doing that.
