Vids in the works I hope
I was inspired by settiai to take stock of my vid WIPs. I love vidding and I have so many ideas, but sometimes I get a little lazy, a little undisciplined. So, if nothing else, I can use this to keep myself on top of my goals and how well I'm meeting them?
Actualfax WIPs
Sekrit vid 2: there is no reason for this to be a sekrit but I feel like I'm gonna jinx myself or something if I announce I'm vidding this fandom. I don't know why. Anyway, clips are like 2/3 laid, I'm not sure I'm even gonna bother with a beta. I like it so far! I'm exporting a draft right now. My last export was nearly a month ago, but hey. I defended a PhD in the interim.
Sekrit vid 1: OK, this one has good reason for being a sekrit! (I'm not going to tell you what it is either.) I've done some clipping and laid some clips, still have a ways to go.
Angel vid: Angel and Gunn focused. (Not a slash vid.) I laid about half the clips and did most of the clipping last fall, then I got distracted by Festivids and VVC vids. I just watched the draft today for the first time in months. I like it pretty well but making a Club Vivid vid really upped my tolerance for high-frequency cutting. Now a lot of the clips feel too long even though they're under 2 seconds! It's a fast song. So I'll have to make some changes but I still like the concept and am pretty happy with what I've got. I've renewed my resolve to finish it.
Angel vid: Gunn character. I have some clips and a song! And encouragement fromjetpack_monkey and sanguinity. That's all a vidder needs, right? I've also edited this song pretty heavily. I'd hate for all that work to go to waste!
BtVS: Giles & Buffy vid. (Also not a shipper vid.) I did pretty much all the clipping for this when I clipped for my Club Vivid vid, but I haven't done a thing on the timeline yet. I wish there was gonna be a Winter of Giles instead of -- or in addition to, maybe -- Summer of Giles. Then I'd be more motivated to do something with those clips.
Angel: Lorne character. This probably shouldn't count as a WIP. All I have is some clips that I made while clipping for the other two Angel vids.
Vids I wanna make soon
Hunger Games: I really, really want to finish this before Catching Fire is released. That's reasonable, right? It'll probably take precedence over some of my WIPs. I have another HG vid idea -- a victor ensemble vid -- that I might be able to make just with footage from Catching Fire and THG. Then another idea that will require all four films.
Once Upon a Time: the femslash vid thatshopfront commissioned for a fundraiser this past winter. Still need to find music!
BtVS: Tara character vid. Hey, this only encompasses 3 seasons instead of 7! Totally doable. And hey, I already edited the song, so maybe it counts as a WIP?
Terminator TSCC: Basically, the vid I was gonna make for VVC premieres before my wrists said "fuck no you're not vidding nothing." Also the![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
tightpresent vid, maybe? Both are pretty terminator-heavy, though more in the sense of using them to explore themes of the show than about the terminators as characters. Or will be if I ever make them. :)
Epic Xena Vid-Series from Hell: I can't get this out of my head. Seven songs, mostly focused on Xena and Gabrielle (as individuals and their relationship.) I would ask someone to back me off this cliff but I kinda don't want you to.
Angel vid: thematically linked to the Gunn vid and the Angel & Gunn vid, so it'd be a trilogy.
Firefly: Shepherd Book focused. With edited music!
Friday Night Lights: a sad vid with a somewhat difficult concept. I'm not sure it'll work, though if it did I'd be proud of it. If I ever get to the point where I'm really serious about making this, I'll find one or two people to bounce the idea off of before I start.
Friday Night Lights: basically the opposite of the above vid in every way. Thematically straightforward and lighthearted. A strong candidate for next year's Club Vivid.
Ugh, I also got a Skyler vid idea while running the other day. I've been declaring to anyone who'll listen that I have no intention of vidding or even rewatching Breaking Bad, because well-made as it is, Walter White just makes me want to rip my goddamn hair out. But this idea actually sort of works perfectly for that and I'm kind of loving the idea? We'll see. It could be another Club Vivid candidate.
