The Rings of Akhatenn (S7:E07)
It had that earnest sense of wonder at life that I associate with the early RTD era (and may very well be a part of Classic Who as well, I wouldn't know) combined with the lovely high budget visuals of the Moffat era. I loved the recurring motif of the vast range of things that must happen to make us who we are. And it didn't apply just to humans!
I loved Clara in this episode as well! And the Doctor–I felt a nice sense of continuity between Eleven and the two previous Doctors, which is something I often struggle with in trying to make sense of the character.
I'm also officially a fan of the new titles, though my favorite will probably always be the ones circa S3, because I really liked how the “Doctor Who” scrolled across the screen to the music. Still, these are quite nice as well.
I like Doctor Who, but often I enjoy DW vids and other fannish creations and discussions more than the actual show. This time, I found myself loving the show in and of itself.
