Seeking vids about work
Hi everyone!
condnsdmlk and I are running a vidshow at this year's VidUKon and we are looking for recs. The theme is work.
Any vid about work or workplaces, or about striking and workplace organising/action, would be lovely to hear about.
Vids focusing on work that is unwaged -- for example slavery or housework -- are very much welcome.
Self-recs encouraged!

-What A Way to Make A Living by Gwenfrankenstein (Black Books) - there are loads of great vids to '9 to 5' but this and the lego stormtroopers one by Eruthros are my faves, and if it's ok with you guys I'd love to show the Stormtroopers ones in my comedy vidshow? OH and there's also a great Merlin one by Chayana.
-This Sullen Welsh Heart by Lila Futuransky (Pride) - a vid about many things, including striking and aaaaaargh feels /o\
-The Fucking Manual by Trutgras (The Thick of It) - how does the country even work we just don't know (spoilers: it doesn't)
-Workin' It by Brokenmnemonic (Magic Mike) - does this need an explanation
-Working for a Living by thingswithwings (Leverage & Hustle)
I'm sure I know more than that so I may be back!

The reason I really wanted to use this one is that my show is for funny vids - and like 90% of the ones I've found or been recced so far are all about white dudes. It's really quite stark. So I pegged this version of 9-5 as one of the few that's Not About White Dudes. I mean, it's not about women or people of colour either, but it's a low bar...

I'd also suggest fan_eunice's Poor Poor Pitiful Me, about the plight of Buster on Mythbusters.
the Middleman vid Wake Up by arefadedaway, perhaps? The tedium and daily grind of tracking down mysterious alien phenomena!
echan's The Organization and the Assets (how people are abused and destroyed by dehumanizing spy work)
the Parks and Recreation vid Go Places by Nicole Annel - this one is perfect! Leslie and Ann build parks and friendship. You need some government work in here!
This might be weird but I'll throw out a rec for the Brittney Spears vid Piece of Me by obsessive24. Thinking about the demands of celebrity, especially on young women.
And I would second the rec for my vid Working for a Living, about Leverage and Hustle and con artists and class.
Such an exciting idea for a vidshow - can't wait to see how it comes out! <333
