Thanks for linking to that Buffy article. I hadn't seen it before, and I like it. I went through a phase of thinking Angel was more mature than Buffy, but that corresponded with my phase of thinking "dark" was synonymous with "mature." Nowadays I tend to think that Buffy was better storytelling overall, though there's a lot about Angel that I still appreciate.

I was thinking of doing a Buffy re-watch sometime soon. I haven't watched any episodes in a few years, and I rather miss the Whedonverse.
