Five Things!
Jan. 14th, 2013 10:11 am1. I'm in Florida! I'm visiting my most fantabulous lifelong BFF, and the weather is lovely, and I'm finally getting over my bronchitis, and I'm on vacation!
2. I watched the Golden Globes last night! For maybe the first time ever? Certainly the first time in many, many years. It really underscored how out of touch I am with movies and television that doesn't make it on my flist. For the most part, I wasn't convinced I was missing much. Still, my resolve to check out Nashville, and maybe Girls, which I'd never heard heard of, is renewed.
3. I am finally watching Community and Parks and Recreation! I like both so far, though Community is a lot sillier -- and a lot less like actual community college -- than I expected. But I love love love Abed. He is hilarious! And Palestinian! His interactions with Troy are my favorite part of the show so far. Meanwhile, Parks and Rec has been a real treat. Um, I think Amy Poehler is my new favorite? I can't even believe how much I love Leslie. And Anne. And their emerging friendship.
4. I am making my first femslash vid! Actually, it's my first non-gen vid period. (I don't consider Maybe Sparrow a shipper vid.)
shopfront commissioned it for
such_heights 's fundraiser to help
leanwellback while he looks for work after his partner's death. I'm honored to be doing something, however small, that contributes to that effort, and I'm super excited to make this vid! Oh, did I mention it's for Once Upon a Time? The show that gives me all the femslash feels, as some might say.
5. I'm practicing making icons! I'm actually quite pleased with how my new default icon turned out. If you want to know, the picture is of lenticular clouds over Mt. Rainier in Washington State.

Date: 2013-01-15 03:51 pm (UTC)Amy Poehler! Basically whenever Leslie makes that funny smile or says something adorable I just start giggling with uncontrollable glee.
ETA: Oh! And I forgot to add -- you are totally the reason I started watching this. I was reading your "feminism" tag and read an essay you linked to in a post; either you or the poster was comparing Leslie Knope to Liz Lemon and it really made me want to watch the show.
